The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E.Lockhart

This book was a rare treasure which I happened to stumble upon while shopping in the teenage fiction section. Frankie Landau-Banks goes to a prestigious (and extremely expensive) boarding school and is not looking forward to another year at school. But, when a gorgeous boy in the year above invites her to hang out with him and his friends, the year starts to look up. These boys, however, seem to have a secret they won't share with any of the girls. The "no girls allowed" rule makes Frankie extremely curious about what they are doing and why. She feels very close to this circle of friends but suddenly the boys won't share their secret! Then, the pranks start …

I really enjoyed this book because it was intelligently written and shone a light on what dating can really be like. I also really liked the character of Frankie because I think she is an excellent role model to girls who are told that something is only for boys. The sense on humour in the book also means it feels light hearted and shows what it is like to be young. On the back of my copy of the book was a list of all the awards it had won and it really was a long one! If you are looking for a book to buy a friend I would definitely recommend this as it is something everyone could enjoy. I would check it out for a feel good summer read!
